Job Summary
The IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of business-facing IT projects, from large-scale initiatives to smaller efforts. This role ensures alignment with business priorities, achievement of defined success criteria, and realization of measurable value and ROI.
The IT Project Manager plays a critical role in improving visibility and accountability across NEBCO’s technology portfolio of projects, introducing consistent yet lightweight project management processes, enhancing coordination across teams, and ensuring timely project execution.
This role contributes to IT’s alignment with the business by engaging with management to understand evolving needs and ensuring IT efforts are prioritized, scoped and delivered in a way that supports those needs. This position also supports the CIO by participating in key meetings, tracking action items, and driving cross-functional follow-through. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Strategy & Planning
- Engages with operations and works alongside IT project leads to understand business requirements.
- Supports business relationship management by actively engaging with department leaders to understand evolving priorities and ensure alignment between IT initiatives and business needs.
- Ensures ROI analysis is prepared for proposed technology initiatives and validate that completed projects achieve intended business outcomes.
- Resolves prioritization challenges when demand exceeds IT capacity, escalating as needed to the CIO.
- Refines project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with the business and the IT project leads.
- Defines and communicates project success criteria, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
- Sets and manages expectations with stakeholders and team members.
- Schedules timelines and milestones, taking into account all active and upcoming initiatives.
- Maintains an active project portfolio, managing milestones, deliverables, status, and overall progress.
- Determines content and frequency of status reports, and analyzes, monitors and prepares presentation-ready reports on the overall portfolio and individual project progress.
- Conducts post-project reviews and captures lessons learned; adapts approach accordingly.
- Ensures action items from meetings are documented, assigned, and monitored for completion.
- Utilizes best practices, tools, and templates for project execution; evolves the methodology, standards and templates to ensure successful project and program management at the organization.
- Leads or provides structure and support for key IT projects, ensuring appropriate oversight, coordination, and alignment across initiatives—whether managed directly or by Business Analysts or other team members.
- Collaborates respectfully with project leads to ensure consistency in planning and execution while preserving clear ownership; ensures overall portfolio success, ensuring projects meet objectives, timelines, and ROI.
- Monitors project risks, quality, scope, and budget adherence.
- Ensures consistency in project management methodology, documentation, and reporting.
- Serves as a liaison for the CIO, coordinating across teams to manage the IT project portfolio and overall roadmap.
- Attends key strategic and project meetings alongside the CIO to stay aligned on initiatives.
- Documents critical decisions, action items, and key take aways from meetings.
- Tracks and coordinates progress on all project-related tasks to ensure timely and complete execution.
- Supports validation of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure delivered solutions meet the original needs of the business.
- Helps maintain momentum on key initiatives by driving cross-functional accountability, while providing support without disrupting established roles or responsibilities.
- Plans and estimates resources and staffing needed to achieve project goals.
- Drafts and manages project budgets, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Coordinates with business departments to allocate necessary personnel.
- Recommends resource adjustments or consultant support, as project demands evolve.
- Develops and maintains project plans, communications and stakeholder updates.
- Provides timely updates, reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies and manages dependencies and critical paths across projects.
- Manages changes in project scope and develops contingency plans as needed.
- Resolves conflicts and issues within project teams.
- Mentors, coaches, and motivates project team members.
- Fosters strong business relationships to support successful project delivery.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of project management required; IT project experience desired.
- an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid NE driver’s license
- Experience in the building materials and/or construction industry is a plus.
- Experience delivering projects with strong ROI and meeting defined business requirements.
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies.
- Aptitude for understanding application architecture, integrations, and data flows.
- Exposure to business domains such as accounting, HR, and manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience managing both large-scale and smaller projects.
- Deep experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid project delivery frameworks.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and driving accountability across teams.
- Ability to work long or irregular hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Able to occasionally travel for meetings, presentations, or project-related needs.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
