About The Operations Document Control Specialist Position

The Operations Document Control Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining all quality control documents and records in accordance with regulatory standards and company procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Operations Document Control Specialist Responsibilities Are

  • Report for assigned shift in a timely manner, in appropriate attire.
  • Adherence to Garner Foods policies, FDA guidelines for food safety and food defense, SQF code, HACCP, and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage and maintain all quality control documents, including specifications, procedures, and records.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all QA documentation.
  • Establish and maintain document control procedures and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the review, approval, and distribution of QA documents to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor document revisions and maintain a controlled document repository.
  • Facilitate document change control processes, including documentation of changes and ensuring timely implementation.
  • Provide support and guidance to QA personnel on document control processes and procedures.
  • Perform testing on product as needed in support of QA personnel.
  • Conduct periodic audits of QA documents to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support document-related activities, such as audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the document control function.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Quality leadership.

Operations Document Control Specialist Requirements Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific or technical field, preferred.
  • Proven experience in document control, preferably in a quality control or regulatory environment.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, SQF).
  • Experience in Microsoft 365, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with peers and management at all levels of an organization, internally and externally.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, SQF, HACCP regulations and requirements preferred.
  • Ability to work in wet non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, customers, quality, and productivity is required.
  • Knowledge of good documentation practices (GDP) and data integrity principles.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS) is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, if necessary.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
