THE POSITION
As a strategic partner to the City Manager and executive leadership, the Assistant to the City Manager is a highly responsible professional responsible for coordinating City operations, advancing intergovernmental initiatives, shaping public communication, and guiding high-impact programs. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of policy implementation, civic engagement, and innovative service delivery. Acting as a trusted advisor, liaison, and problem-solver, the Assistant to the City Manager will help translate the City Council’s vision into tangible outcomes that benefit Moreno Valley’s diverse and growing community.

With a strong analytical background and the ability to manage projects with precision and purpose, this candidate is ready to support executive leadership and help bring the City Council’s vision for Moreno Valley to life.
Minimum Qualifications
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and five years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. An Associate's degree is highly desirable.

About The City Managers Department
Functions of this office include coordination of the implementation of City Council policies and programs; providing overall direction to the departments that administer City programs and services; coordinating intergovernmental relations and legislative advocacy; and administration of the City's Technology Services Division, media relations, public information and intergovernmental relations and public safety contract administrator.
