Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is looking to add to our Facilities

team and has an opportunity for a Security Supervisor. This position is

responsible for the oversight of the daily security operations of the

main campus and field offices. This includes insuring security guard

positions are staffed to meet the daily needs for the safety of

employees as well as special events as they arise. The Security

Supervisor also is responsible for providing guidance for the security

guards to assist in carrying out their duties successfully. The Security

Supervisor will also work closely with the Security Manager assisting

them as needed.

**What youll do**

  • Responsible for performance monitoring, policy enforcement, hiring,

disciplinary actions, terminations, compliance, and team

development, while ensuring accurate documentation of all related

employment actions.

  • Assist in the continued development, implementation, and maintaining

of a comprehensive, company-wide physical security program as

approved by leadership.

  • Complete initial and periodic physical security risk assessments to

identify levels of risk. Assist in the development of appropriate

protective measures to be used company-wide such as physical

security staff, protective procedures, security monitoring

equipment, security lighting, motion detectors, surveillance

Cameras, And Other Protective Measures, As Required.

  • Assist the Security Manager in developing the department budget

plan, short- and long-term goals to complete objectives, and

supporting plans.

  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure

coverage when a position is vacant due to illness, PTO, etc. This

request may occur with little or no prior notice.

  • Actively collaborate in designing departmental policies, standards,

procedures, and guidelines, and maintaining this information within

the Policy Tech system.

  • Must be proficient using the system for job requisitions, equipment

procurement, and employee time sheet approvals.

  • Be proficient and able to assist security guards in using the access

control software, surveillance cameras, and Simplex notification

system.

  • Ensure the safety of employees and all visitors. The role may

involve responding to life-threatening situations that require

rapid, independent decision-making rooted in prior law enforcement

experience. Inaccurate decisions or actions could compromise safety

and potentially lead to legal consequences.

  • Provide expert report writing when documenting an incident.
