Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Site Superintendent/ Production Manager to join our team for a Highway Construction Project in Los Angeles, California.

  • Project: highway/road
  • Estimated duration of the position: 8 months- In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day field operations for earthworks, grading, paving, drainage, and structural works (retaining walls, sound walls, culverts).
  • Coordinate the execution of critical path activities, including median barrier installation, concrete pavement, and asphalt placement on new freeway ramps.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure all works are performed safely, on schedule, and within quality and budget parameters.
  • Supervise the realignment of on/off ramps.
  • Liaise with engineers, planners, and inspectors to track progress and resolve construction issues. Monitor resource allocation, productivity, and equipment usage to maximize on-site efficiency. Ensure compliance with Caltrans standards and local construction regulations.
  • Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and enforce strict adherence to site health and safety protocols.
  • Report on daily production, delays, and progress to the Project Director and client representatives.
  • Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Production Manager in highway/road/linear works/ heavy civil construction projects or similar.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven expertise in earthworks, drainage, road paving, structural concrete, and utility coordination.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. There may be occasional weekend work or extended hours based on project demands.
