The ASC Coordinator manages patient care by nursing and auxiliary staff, ensuring efficient workflow and collaboration with the healthcare team to anticipate needs and prevent issues.
- Reports to the Nurse Manager-Operative Services.
- Plans staffing, delegates care, organizes work, and oversees breaks.
- Participates in performance reviews and covers staff roles when needed.
- Maintains equipment performance and communicates with team members to ensure timely surgeries.
- Follows incident reporting, OSHA, and regulatory policies, participating in root cause analyses and corrective actions.
- Provides excellent customer service, promotes infection control, and stays updated on quality and education protocols.
- Supports compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and may cover other clinical areas.
- Requires nursing degree, 5+ years of nursing experience including 2+ in relevant specialty, and active RN license in Illinois.
- Certifications include CPR, ACLS, and PALS within specified timeframes.
- Demands manual dexterity, professionalism, emotional control, good health, and physical stamina.
- Work environment involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazards; occasional heavy lifting.
