We are seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to join our accounting team based in our Bakersfield office.
The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $80K - $100K, with a target annual bonus of 10% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Responsibilities
- Assist with the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Review and verify capital expenditure (CapEx) requests for proper classification in conjunction with the fixed asset subledger
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams to track and close capital projects to fixed assets
- Prepare journal entries and maintain proper supporting documentation as needed
- Assist with the monthly reconciliation of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and SOX/internal control requirements
- Assist with physical inventory reconciliation reviews
- Support external audits and provide documentation as required
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business (Accounting preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP, asset capitalization policies, and depreciation methods
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with HFM | Oracle EPM
- Experience with fixed asset accounting
