Our HSE Team is seeking to fill an HSE Advisor - GHG/Sustainability position. This position will be based out of our Bakersfield, Long Beach, or Ventura, CA, office.

The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $100k - $165K, with a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program. Responsibilities

GHG-

  • Proficient knowledge of and able to analyze EPA/CARB CO2/Methane emissions, with a deep understanding of equipment-specific reporting requirements. Skilled in interpreting emissions trends and translating them into strategic insights for operational optimization, moving beyond basic data reporting to inform long-term environmental and compliance strategies.
  • Support annual EPA and CARB GHG reporting and verification process, including interviews, site visits, issues log deliverables, requests for documentation, presentations and miscellaneous correspondence for all registered entities.
  • Update and improve GHG inventory program data and calculations.
  • Support methane reduction efforts and MiQ certification program.
  • Participate in CARB and EPA GHG Rule development workshops and communicate the impacts of legislative rule changes to CRC management and operations personnel, including strategies to minimize impact of CO2/methane emissions (ie. Cap & Trade, WEC).

Sustainability-

  • Supporting the preparation and publishing of regular and transparent sustainability disclosures.
  • Familiarity with GRI, SASB, and MiQ’s ICG protocols, as well as with relevant standards, frameworks and regulations, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Equitable Origin (EO), the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), etc.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data related to the organizations ESG performance.
  • Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of sustainability data collection by leveraging external software solutions, streamlining processes and ensuring compliance with evolving environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure the provision of standardized, accurate, and auditable data, facilitating transparent and reliable reporting.

Project Management/Data Governance/Operations & HSE Team Support-

  • Demonstrate basic project management knowledge (scope definition, scheduling and budget tracking).
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, compliance, and strategic utilization across the organization.
  • Support activities to foster a positive HSE culture.
  • Travel required between field and office locations.
  • Periodic on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Possess knowledge of oil and gas field equipment and operating processes.
  • Minimum 5-7 years professional experience with previous experience in oil and gas or heavily regulated industry preferred, California experience required.
  • Proficient organization and time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities may be adjusted frequently.
  • Professional HSE related certifications (PE, CEP, RES, CHMM, GHG/Sustainability/Carbon Certifications)
  • Familiar with sustainability reporting frameworks and sustainability management software, such as Workiva.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Must be a team player and open to collaborate and dial Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and field operations personnel.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & clean DMV record.
