Plate Maker I / Prepress Technician

We are offering $15.50 an hour based on experience.

Are you passionate about printing and prepress technology? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a keen eye for detail? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, and Workflow System.
  • Knowledge of HP DesignJet proofers and Krause Platesetters.
  • Excellent knowledge of Mac and PC platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Set and achieve goals according to schedule.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing requirements and schedules.
  • Solve problems analytically and act on your own initiative.
  • Coach and reinforce learning to promote internal customer relationships.
  • Accurately record time and materials used in production.
  • Test, create, manipulate, debug, and process files to meet quality and job requirements.
  • Scan, size, color balance, and place images as needed.
  • Output files using appropriate devices and formats (laser to paper, RIP to plate, PDF, DCS).
  • Inspect output materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Produce high-quality proofs and inspect them for accuracy.
  • Follow directions from work orders and perform other duties as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete required OSHA safety training programs.
  • Ensure all machine safety-guards are installed and functioning properly.
  • Report any safety hazards, operational concerns, and accidents/injuries immediately.

Communication

  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the operations team and management.
  • Report equipment issues promptly.
