Job Description

COMC is looking to hire a Facility & Maintenance Associate. This person will be r esponsible for safely performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment, to support the company's business goals and objectives . They will exemplify COMC’s core values and card culture through action and mentorship.

The ideal candidate would have experience as a maintenance technician and possess a strong level of attention to detail who thrives in an ever-changing environment. They will be a collaborative employee with outstanding interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and motivational skills. They are discreet, tactful, and timely. This position will be in our Algona, WA location with travel to Tacoma, WA & Redmond, WA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other building systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify and resolve issues in building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that maintenance tasks comply with safety protocols and building codes
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency maintenance calls and provide quick resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Vendor Coordination: Interface with external contractors and vendors for specialized services and parts.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance through established programs to reduce equipment failure and extend asset life.
  • Woodworking & Carpentry: Perform woodwork and carpentry tasks, such as repairing furniture, constructing shelves or partitions, and maintaining wooden fixtures or structures.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain power tools and heavy equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, ladders, and electric pallet jacks).
  • Upkeep of Facility Aesthetics: Maintain a clean and organized facility, ensuring that both interior and exterior areas are safe, presentable, and functional for employees and visitors.
  • Uphold the COMC Values & Quality Standards: Maintain high standards of quality, reliability, and exemplify the organization's culture of collaboration and accountability (CARD culture). Be a willing and collaborative partner to support all areas of the organization.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling sensitive materials and information.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned: Be adaptable and ready to take on additional tasks or responsibilities to support the smooth operation of the organization.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including pumps, motors, and HVAC.
  • Proficiency in Woodworking & Carpentry: Ability to safely use woodworking tools and techniques for repairs and construction tasks.
  • Electrical Skills: Knowledge and ability to work around low- and high-voltage systems and safely troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Plumbing: Proficient in repairing and maintaining plumbing systems.
  • Safety Standards: Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety protocols.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and team interaction.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues and determine the most costeffective solution
  • Time Management: Capable of handling multiple tasks and prioritizing responsibilities to ensure timely completion of all maintenance projects.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word/Office and its applications (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • High School Diploma/GED, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve

  • Knowledgeable about the sports and sports cards industry (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer)
  • Knowledge in the non-sports card industry (Marvel, Entertainment, Trading Card Games, Pop Culture)
  • OSHA 10/30-hour General Industry Certification
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician

The position requires the ability to work with fingers to pick, pinch, and carry out substantial movements of the wrist and hands to perform tasks of delicate manual dexterity, handling small, fragile inventory with great precision and care. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
