Welcome to Love's The IT Field Support Technician I position is responsible for the installation and end user use training of POS, office PC, and Networking equipment, as well as network infrastructure, the setup and testing of installed equipment, the installation and setup of video surveillance systems, and the programming and testing of communication flow for fuel dispensing systems at new and existing Love's locations. The position is also responsible for project coordination with operations and vendors. In addition, this position is responsible for adhering to any timelines and specifications due to project guidelines. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate expense reporting and keeping expenses within company guidelines.

Job Functions:

• Installing and testing equipment in the field for new and existing stores, i.e. POS, CCTV, PC and networking devices
• Testing equipment to verify proper communication and functionality
• Wiring, termination and testing of network infrastructure
• Assist in training store personnel on use of equipment
• Assist in decision making in the field about placement of equipment for customer flow and ease of use for employees
• Traveling to various Love's store locations nationwide
• Other duties assigned as needed
  
  

Experience and Qualifications:

• Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience: Basic network installation, basic PC skills
  
  

Skills and Physical Demands:

• Knowledge in Microsoft Office use and functionality a plus, ability to utilize hand tools
• Ability to learn and adapt to varying situations quickly, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work under supervision with a high level of integrity
• Requires prolonged sitting, bending and stooping, ladder climbing
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and hand tools
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision
• Traveling via car and plane will be required (the amount of travel does vary but travel typically is about 2.5 weeks per month.)
• Overnight travel is required
• Valid driver’s license is required
