Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a forward-thinking Director of Procurement in our Dallas, TX office to lead and transform our procurement strategy across the organization. This is more than a purchasing role, it’s a critical leadership position at the intersection of quality patient care, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
You will oversee sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor relations, and procurement operations with a laser focus on cost savings, service quality, and alignment with our clinical and financial goals.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Strategy: Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies for medical products and services that align with clinical, financial, and operational priorities.
- Drive Results: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and value-based negotiations, without compromising quality or patient outcomes.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to stay ahead of market trends and ensure supply continuity.
- Champion Collaboration: Partner closely with clinical, finance, operations, and compliance teams to ensure procurement decisions support organizational goals.
- Modernize Procurement: Leverage technology and data to streamline procurement processes, enhance visibility, and improve decision-making.
- Lead with Purpose: Uphold ethical sourcing standards, promote sustainability, and prepare for emergency supply needs during crises or disasters.
- Inspire and Educate: Provide ongoing training to procurement staff, ensuring the team remains agile, compliant, and informed on the latest best practices and technologies.
- Communicate with Impact: Keep senior leadership informed of procurement performance, risks, and opportunities through clear reporting and strategic insight.
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years in procurement/supply chain leadership, including 5+ years in management.
- Strong background in procurement, logistics, and inventory management, with proven success negotiating contracts in complex, regulated environments.
- Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and using KPIs to drive performance and savings.
- Effective team leader with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence; able to influence decisions and collaborate across departments.
- Sharp problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with ERP systems, e-procurement tools, and supply chain software.
- Solid understanding of FDA, HIPAA, and international healthcare regulations.
