The Payroll Specialist will provide support in processing payroll, responding to employee inquiries, and have the ability to anticipate potential payroll issues and questions. Initiates pro-active action to prevent problems and resolve issues.
This is a full-time remote position. Candidates must reside in Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST) to be considered. Compensation starting at $33.17/hr. Compensation based on qualifications, including experience, education, and certifications.

- Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, in conjunction with payroll team
- Audit and process final pay requests for terminations (multi-state)
- Complete manual process for late conversions/overtime audits
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for changes/updates as well as identify areas for process improvements and streamlining
- Assist the payroll manager with the analysis of various payroll data and/or completion of departmental projects
- Collaborate with Human Resources partners to determine effective resolutions for payroll issues
- Provide answers to general payroll questions and address issues that may arise in a timely manner
- Coordinate with Human Resources to resolve pay discrepancies
- Provide appropriate resolution of reported payroll discrepancies
- Ability to complete payroll calculations relating to tax withholding, effects of pre-tax deductions and other deductions such as garnishments and wage attachments
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll/personnel information
- Report to payroll manager regarding daily activities and issues
- Assist in the year-end process by auditing W-2s or reports
- Cross training and back-up responsibilities of other payroll resources as assigned
- High School Diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Related Field preferred.
- Requires 2-3 years payroll processing experience, in a multi-company, multi-state environment and knowledge of Federal and States wage and hour law.
- UKG experience preferred.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Central Reach.
