Job Description Summary
The Systems Engineering Manager leads a US based team for the Maternal and Infant Care (MIC) Engineering organization. The Systems Engineering Manager leads the Systems team through the product development lifecycle while meeting quality, regulatory compliance, cost and business targets. In addition the leader will drive talent development and engagement for the team. The leader works globally with MIC systems and product teams as well as cross functional stakeholders to advance the MIC roadmap.
The Maternal Infant Care Team is developing the future of medical technology in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Labor and Delivery care areas of hospitals.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring. Resource prioritization and allocation including headcount and base cost budget.
- Lead system engineering team through the product development lifecycle while meeting quality, regulatory compliance, cost and business targets
- Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and to capture system requirements.
- Define the direction and drive continuous improvement of systems and processes in a globally spread team. Sustain a culture of customer centricity, innovative solutions with a sense of urgency and openness.
- Lead change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues. Optimize team’s participation in all phases of product development.
- Supporting existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas of the GEHC Quality Management System
- Demonstrate accountability & communication skills to drive systems rigor, innovation, & collaboration within the segment team and across Maternal Infant Care globally
- Collaborate with peers across functions (e.g. Marketing, Quality Assurance /Regulatory Assurance, Supply Chain, Service) to drive a high-performance team environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Embedded Software Engineering/STEM degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of system engineering experience in in Medical Product development
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing programs or leading people.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with global team members.
- Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Embedded Software Engineering/related STEM degree.
- 9+ years of experience in Systems Design/ Systems Integration/product design from disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, software etc.
- Proven experience in leading a systems design technology team, with demonstrated leadership in defining product specifications, driving cross-functional synergies and achieving high quality outcomes.
- Member of INCOSE.
- Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization. Able to energize and inspire.
- Business Planning: Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change.
- Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks/issues. Responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.
- Excellent influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives. Proven ability to work cross-functionally throughout product life cycle.
- Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry and experience with audits. Previous experience in regulated medical device company.
- Previous supervisory experience and demonstrated competency in providing leadership and coaching others.
