Position Summary

The Stacker/Loader/Packer in the Corrugator Department is responsible for efficiently handling finished products by stacking, loading, inspecting, and maintaining smooth workflow operations. The role ensures maximum machine performance, high product quality, and a safe, clean work environment. Ownership of safety, quality, and efficiency is key.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety rules and plant policies.
• Prepare your workstation before shift starts:

• Ensure waste pallets are available.
• Clear sorting tables and clean work area.
• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Communicate machine adjustment needs to the Rotary Die Cut Operator.
• Continuously monitor the stacker/load former to minimize waste.
• Check bundle scale for accuracy and adjust as needed.
• Handle materials properly; follow ergonomic safety practices.
• Work to reduce corrugator downtime to an absolute minimum.
• Regularly check product quality and remove any defective boards.
• Perform sanitation and preventative maintenance per department protocols.
• Collaborate with coworkers to boost departmental performance.
• Clean machines and work area at end of shift for next team.
• Operate equipment correctly:

• Auger
• Conveyor system
• Load former
• Shrink tunnel
• Accumulator
• Use correct startup procedures (e.g., “Hands Up” method).
• Report any equipment issues to your supervisor or lead.
• Participate in rework and maintenance as needed.
• Be flexible during absences—your supervisor may reassign roles as necessary. Required Skills and Qualities: The Stacker/Packer must comply with all Smurfit Westrock policies and procedures, including:
• SQF and YUM Brands sanitation and cleaning standards.
• Pest Management, HACCP, Food Defense protocols.
• Compliance with GMP programs and Safety Programs.
• Maintenance of proper operational methods and personnel practices.
