POSITION SUMMARY

Primary Accountabilites
- Performs clinical laboratory testing of various complexities, in a timely and efficient manner
on the following bench: clinical chemistry, toxicology, transfusion services, urinalysis,
hemostasis, hematology, microbiology, immunology, point of care, and or as assigned by lab
leadership.
- Complies with all Health First, HF Laboratory policies and procedures, along with all pertinent
- Performs quality control on various laboratory tests ensuring its accuracy and validity.
- Performs equipment maintenance on various lab analyzers. Performs calibration and
standards of accuracy.
- Shows commitment to meet departmental goals & to continuously improve performance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associates of Science degree in Medical Lab Science, any biological sciences or

- Licensure: Medical Technician licensure by the State of Florida.

- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proficient in required computer applications
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strong skills in critical thinking, prioritization and organization of tasks, communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Work Experience: Two (2) years in clinical laboratory.
- Certification: MLS(ASCP) also formerly known as MT(ASCP), and/or MT(AAB),
Physical Requirements
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low
