Shared Service Agent - Health Inspector

The City of Brockton and the towns of Abington, Avon, Stoughton, and

Whitman Health Departments have formed an intermunicipal group called

the Plymouth Norfolk 5 (PN5). The PN5 are engaged in an innovative

initiative to strengthen core local public health services, to advance

the recommendations of the 2019 Special Commission on Local and Regional

Public Health and promote healthier communities across the region. The

PN5 Shared Public Health Services group is seeking to hire a Shared

Health Agent that will be based in Brockton, to support the health

departments in the city of Brockton and the towns of Abington, Avon,

Stoughton, and Whitman. SALARY: \$65,000 - \$75,000 / Annually Grant

funded position. Please note the salary range indicated is firm. REPORTS

TO: Works under the general direction of the PN-5 Service coordinator,

Chief of Inspectional Services, and Brockton's Commissioner of Health

and Human Services ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs routine inspections of

food establishments, public pools, recreational camps, beaches, housing,

nuisances, and hazmat facilities to ensure compliance with DEP, state,

and local regulations. Investigates complaints related to such

facilities and maintains detailed records of all such inspections and

investigations. Drafts order letters as appropriate with input from each

town's health department staff. Complies with the State Public Health

Workforce Training Standards. Participates in the FDA Voluntary Retail

Program Standards training and implementation for the Town. Coordinates

activities with other departments and divisions to support the Health

Division's mission or to provide support for other divisions. Conducts

housing inspections in accordance with 105 CMR 410.000 of the State

Sanitary Code. Provides code enforcement and files in Housing Court when

necessary. Prepares inspection reports, order letters, and Court

documents as required. Performs special projects and related

duties as required, directed or as the situation dictates. Regular

Attendance And Punctuality At The Workplace Is Required. Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE: This position requires a high school

diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in public health, chemistry

or biology preferred. 2 or more years of health agent/sanitarian

Experience Preferred. Please Indicate Pertinent Training Or

certifications held (e.g., Massachusetts Registered Sanitarian, Soil

Evaluator, Food Safe / Food Inspector, etc.). Valid Massachusetts motor

vehicle operator's license and own vehicle. REQUIRED CREDENTIALING
