Industrial Controls Electrician

United States Steel Corporation

Picture your shift starting on the mill floor. You gear up with hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal guards. A quick scan of the work orders shows a PLC fault on a production line and a motor control issue near the crane bay. You grab schematics, test instruments, and head out. Moments later, you are tracing AC/DC circuits, reading prints, checking Allen‑Bradley PLC logic, and coordinating with operators to get steel moving again. Before the day ends, you might climb to a pendant station, ride in a manlift, or work around mobile equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts—whatever it takes to keep operations continuous.

  • Support operating functions as needed to maintain production flow.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
