SUMMARY

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • NFHS Cheer/Dance Rules Course
  • NFHS Cheer/Dance Rules Exam
  • AIA Cheer/Dance Course (See Interscholastics Department for more information)
  • NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense) Fundamentals of Coaching Course
  • NFHS Concussion certificate Concussion in Sports Course
  • ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming PowerPoint has been reviewed)
  • Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention certificate Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course
  • Current CPR w/AED (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
  • Current First Aid (On-line classes are not accepted; EMT license supersedes this requirement)
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

  • Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department*
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

COMMENTS

Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Rincon High School - 5th St & Swan Area

Season Dates: July 2026 into May 2027

Two (2) Half-Stipend Positions Available

STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. For more information on salary schedule, please reference the Employee Agreements Webpage.
