HR Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting company operations by partnering with leaders to drive people strategy, optimize processes, and enhance the employee experience. This role works closely with Finance, People & Culture, and the leadership team to deliver scalable HR solutions that support business growth.

This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director in Dallas, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & Benefits Strategy

  • Own and oversee semi-monthly payroll for approximately 250 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Partner with Finance to align payroll processes, reporting, and audits with broader financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including multi-state registrations and tax requirements
  • Manage complex payroll elements including garnishments, certified payroll, and regulatory reporting
  • Lead benefits administration strategy, including enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee communications
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate and optimize benefits offerings for cost efficiency, competitiveness, and employee value
  • Oversee payroll and benefits audits, reconciliations, and vendor performance

HR Business Partner (HRBP) Support

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness
  • Partner with leaders to support team planning, workforce needs, and organizational changes
  • Help drive people initiatives that improve engagement, retention, and team performance
  • Support the implementation of HR programs, policies, and best practices aligned with business objectives

Core HR Operations

  • Support key HR functions including leave management (FMLA), workers’ compensation, safety programs, and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee data, leveraging HR systems effectively
  • Conduct audits and process reviews to enhance efficiency, compliance, and scalability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and improve HR policies, systems, and initiatives

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including:
    • Payroll and benefits administration (minimum 1+ year)
    • Recruiting experience (minimum 2+ years)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive initiatives with a strategic, business-oriented mindset
  • Experience supporting multi-state payroll and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of compensation, payroll, and benefits practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS systems preferred
