Social Media Marketing Specialist

The Creative Agency

Location: This role is in-person in-office

Compensation: $21-27/hr

Bonus/revenue share: tied to social client growth, retention, profitability and campaign performance

Experience: 3+ years, agency preferred

This role is for someone who is genuinely passionate about media, content, social platforms, email strategy, audience behavior, and the way brands build meaningful visibility online. We are looking for someone who does not just “work in marketing,” but actually pays attention to it.

You notice content formats, subject lines, hooks, trends, creator styles, campaign angles, and what makes people stop, click, engage, save, reply, or buy.

This person will help develop campaign ideas, guide social and email strategy, support junior team members, track performance, and bring fresh, relevant content thinking into our process. We need someone who can help make social and email two of the agency’s strongest client acquisition, retention, and growth services.

This is not a basic content scheduling role. It is not simply writing captions or building email blasts. We are looking for a strategic creative thinker who understands how social media and email work together to build brand awareness, deepen audience trust, drive traffic, support sales, and create measurable client impact.

What This Role Will Be Responsible For

In this role, you will help lead strategy, campaign ideation, trend research, content planning, email campaign direction, junior team support, and performance improvement across multiple client accounts.

You will be expected to bring fresh ideas into the agency, identify what is working across platforms, translate trends into brand-appropriate content, and help junior team members execute with greater clarity, quality, and strategic purpose.

You should be able to look at a client’s brand, audience, offer, goals, social presence, and email list and identify where the opportunity is. Sometimes that means a stronger campaign concept. Sometimes it means better hooks. Sometimes it means a tighter nurture sequence. Sometimes it means a more compelling subject line. Sometimes it means telling the team, politely but clearly, that the content is technically fine but not interesting enough to make anyone care.

Core Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Campaign Ideation

Develop social media campaign concepts for client launches, promotions, events, brand awareness, engagement, and sales initiatives.

Identify the objective, audience, content angle, visual direction, platform strategy, and call to action behind each campaign.

Create campaign ideas that are timely, relevant, brand-aligned, and designed to generate measurable impact.

Stay ahead of trends across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and emerging content formats.

Translate relevant trends into client-appropriate content without forcing brands into trends that do not fit.

Email Marketing Strategy & Campaign Management

Develop email campaign strategies that support client goals, promotions, launches, events, nurture efforts, retention, and audience engagement.

Plan and manage email calendars alongside social media calendars so campaigns feel connected, not scattered.

Write and/or review subject lines, preview text, email copy, calls to action, and campaign flow.

Help determine the best email structure for each campaign, including announcement emails, nurture sequences, promotional emails, newsletters, event pushes, product launches, and follow-up campaigns.

Monitor email performance including open rates, click rates, conversion-supporting behavior, list growth, unsubscribes, and audience engagement.

Use email data to improve future campaign strategy rather than simply reporting numbers after the fact.

Content Planning & Cross-Channel Campaigns

Build campaign plans that connect social media and email into one clear strategy.

Ensure social content and email campaigns reinforce each other through consistent messaging, timing, offers, and audience journey.

Create content direction for designers, photographers, videographers, and production team members.

Make sure every campaign has a clear purpose, audience, message, creative direction, platform strategy, and next step.

Help clients understand how social and email work together to build awareness, trust, traffic, leads, and sales.

Junior Team Stewardship & Quality Control

Guide junior team members on social content ideas, caption direction, email copy, campaign structure, and execution quality.

Review social posts, captions, content calendars, email drafts, subject lines, and campaign concepts before they move forward.

Provide clear feedback that helps junior team members improve their creative thinking, writing, strategy, and execution.

Support a high-standard creative environment where work is thoughtful, current, polished, and aligned with client goals.

Performance Tracking & Client Impact

Review social and email performance regularly and identify what is working, what is underperforming, and what should change.

Prepare clear insights and recommendations for internal teams and client reporting.

Connect performance data back to client goals, including visibility, engagement, traffic, leads, conversions, retention, and brand growth.

Help leadership package social and email wins into case studies, proposals, sales materials, and client growth opportunities.

Support proposal strategy, campaign recommendations, content audits, email audits, and social media audits for prospective clients.

Identify opportunities where better content strategy, social execution, and email marketing could help prospective clients grow.

Help position social and email as serious growth channels, not optional marketing accessories.

Required Experience

3+ years of experience in social media strategy, email marketing, content strategy, campaign planning, digital marketing, brand marketing, or agency work.

Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, short-form video, social storytelling, email marketing, and campaign strategy.

Experience planning and managing email campaigns, newsletters, promotional emails, nurture campaigns, or product/event launch emails.

Strong writing, editing, captioning, subject line, and hook development skills.

Ability to ideate campaigns, not just execute assigned posts or emails.

Experience reviewing social and email analytics and translating data into practical recommendations.

Ability to guide, mentor, or support junior team members.

Strong taste level and ability to identify what feels current, elevated, and brand-appropriate.

Comfort managing multiple clients, timelines, campaigns, platforms, and priorities at once.

The Right Fit

You are likely a strong fit if you are naturally interested in media, content, social platforms, email campaigns, creators, culture, audience behavior, and the way brands build relationships online.

You enjoy social media outside of work because you are curious about what people are watching, sharing, saving, clicking, and talking about.

You notice content patterns. You pay attention to hooks, edits, captions, subject lines, preview text, campaign timing, creator formats, brand voice, and platform shifts.

You understand that social media and email should work together. Social creates attention. Email deepens the relationship. Campaigns should guide the audience from awareness to action.

You can tell the difference between a trend that has real strategic value and one that a brand should leave alone for the sake of its own reputation.

You care about both creativity and performance. You understand that great content has to feel current, but it also has to support brand positioning, audience growth, engagement, traffic, leads, and client trust.

You bring ideas forward. You do not wait to be handed every concept.

You are excited by the opportunity to help shape a stronger, sharper, more culturally aware social and email campaign department inside a full-service marketing agency.
