Tayloe/Gray is seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to join our growing team in Wilmington, NC.
This is not a traditional account management position.
Our Senior Account Managers serve as strategic advisors, project managers, and client relationship leaders. They are responsible for helping clients achieve their business goals while ensuring projects move efficiently from concept to completion.
We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, leading projects, and driving results. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple clients and priorities without losing sight of the details.

Position Overview
The Senior Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients while overseeing the successful execution of marketing, branding, website, and digital initiatives.
This role requires both strategic thinking and operational excellence. You will lead client conversations, develop scopes of work, coordinate internal teams, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
The right candidate understands how to balance client relationships with project execution and is comfortable leading discussions with business owners, marketing directors, and executive leadership teams.
Responsibilities
Client Leadership
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned accounts
• Build trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and strategic planning discussions
• Understand client goals, challenges, and growth objectives
• Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and retention
• Identify opportunities to improve results and strengthen partnerships
Project Management
• Manage projects from kickoff through completion
• Create project plans, timelines, and task assignments
• Develop scopes of work, estimates, and project budgets
• Coordinate internal resources across strategy, design, development, content, video, and digital marketing teams
• Monitor project progress and proactively address roadblocks
• Manage change requests and scope adjustments
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
• Maintain clear communication between clients and internal teams
Strategic Marketing
• Collaborate with clients to develop marketing strategies and recommendations
• Understand digital marketing channels including SEO, paid media, email marketing, content marketing, and social media
• Review campaign performance and provide actionable insights
• Support branding, positioning, messaging, and customer journey initiatives
• Help clients connect marketing efforts to business outcomes
Account Growth
• Identify opportunities to expand client engagements
• Assist with proposal development and scope creation
• Support business development efforts when opportunities arise
• Participate in client retention and growth initiatives
• Contribute to agency revenue growth through exceptional client service
Qualifications
Required
• 5+ years of experience in account management, project management, client services, or agency operations
• Experience managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and deliverables
• Strong understanding of marketing, branding, website development, and digital marketing
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agency environment
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Preferred
• Previous agency experience
• Experience managing website design and development projects
• Familiarity with CRM and project management platforms
• Understanding of SEO, PPC, analytics, email marketing, and marketing automation
• Experience working with creative, development, and marketing teams
• Interest in AI, automation, and emerging marketing technologies
