We're hiring a General Manager for Amisto, a new modern Mexican restaurant opening in the heart of downtown Madison.
From the team behind RED, Jacknife, and Public Parking, Amisto is a vibrant new concept rooted in bold flavors, elevated technique, thoughtful hospitality, and a dynamic dining experience designed to bring people together.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead Amisto through opening and beyond. This individual will oversee all daily operations, build and develop a high-performing team, and help shape the culture and guest experience from the ground up.
The General Manager will work closely with ownership to drive financial performance, establish operational excellence, and position Amisto as one of Madison’s standout dining destinations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations and service execution
- Collaborate with ownership to drive sales, manage costs, and optimize overall performance
- Partner with Front of House and Back of House leadership to ensure strong communication and alignment
- Continuously evaluate systems, staffing, and service flow to improve efficiency and consistency
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and develop a strong hospitality-driven team
- Foster a positive, accountable, and growth-oriented culture
- Lead with a hands-on approach and support all areas of the restaurant
- Create and maintain training systems and ongoing development initiatives
Guest Experience
- Uphold exceptional hospitality standards and create memorable guest experiences
- Address guest feedback with professionalism, urgency, and care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
Financial Performance
- Drive revenue through service excellence, events, and strategic initiatives
- Manage labor, food, and beverage costs to meet financial goals
- Analyze P&L reports and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement
- Oversee inventory and purchasing to maximize profitability and minimize waste
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of restaurant management experience (General Manager or senior leadership experience preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to manage financial performance and operational systems
- Experience in high-volume, hospitality-driven environments
- Passion for food, beverage, hospitality, and creating meaningful guest experiences
