Provide vision, leadership, administrative, and resource support to campuses, counselors, and School Support Specialists.
Education/Certification
Master’s Degree in Counseling
Valid Texas teaching and counselor certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with campus administrators, staff, and central office
Ability to collaborate with district and non-district entities to improve student outcomes, as well as the health and wellness of students and staff
Strong organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
Skilled in conducting team efforts to design, implement, measure, and refine programs and services
Experience
Minimum Of Two Years Teaching Experience
Minimum of three years of counseling experience
School counseling experience at the elementary level
Program Management
Provide vision and leadership in identifying goals based on campus needs.
Develop and ensure delivery of training to staff that supports professional growth and ethics, and a consistent interpretation of District policies and state laws and regulations.
Coordinate services and partnerships with multiple departments and community partnerships.
Coordinate a needs assessment for students and counselors relative to programs, services, guidance curriculum, and advisement.
Coordinate the efforts of assigned campuses to be aligned with the District philosophy and comprehensive school counseling program as defined by the state.
Monitor and support the counselors in providing a comprehensive counseling program.
Plan and evaluate the quality of programming and services provided by campus counselors and School Support Specialists.
Assist in developing and help to maintain a yearly calendar of events.
Assist in planning and coordinating monthly meetings and professional development.
Engage in the recruitment, selection, and training of counseling personnel.
Make informed recommendations relative to counseling personnel placement, assignment, and retention.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Communication and Community Relations
Utilize effective verbal and written communication regarding program goals and support.
Work to develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with parents and guardians, campus administrators, District administrators, and other stakeholders.
Use proactive and positive communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Provide meaningful training opportunities for staff, administrators, and parents.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervision responsibilities as assigned.
Monitor data and create action plans based on findings for supervisees and support principals in their supervision responsibilities.
Professional Growth and Development
Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Keep informed of and comply with state, District, and school regulations and policies.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Districtwide travel may be necessary.
