Academic Advisor

Crossover

Remote

You've already tested your own potential—whether in competition, creative performance, or professional achievement. Now you're positioned to make that drive meaningful. At GT Anywhere, academic advisors support students in accomplishing what seems impossible: genuinely enjoying school, accelerating their learning, and evolving into assured, independent thinkers. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location.

GT Anywhere operates as a virtual institution serving gifted learners prepared to advance rapidly. We combine AI-driven curriculum with personalized coaching to provide what conventional education cannot: unlimited academic velocity, rigorous exploration across sciences and humanities, and connection with intellectual equals. In this Academic Advisor position, you'll support 3rd–8th grade students eager to move faster. Content delivery isn't your focus—our technology manages that. You serve as the coach who cultivates confidence, maintains high standards, and enables students to realize their full potential. Each interaction is significant. Each moment of progress matters.

If you've reached elite achievement—in athletics, performing arts, research, or commerce—and seek to empower the next generation to do likewise, this role is designed for you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting biweekly one-on-one virtual coaching conversations with each student, emphasizing academic planning, motivation, and growth mindset development
  • Hosting open "office hours" sessions where students can access immediate support, guidance, or problem-solving assistance
  • Leveraging AI-powered tools and monitoring dashboards to observe student advancement, detect obstacles, and refine your coaching methods
  • Recording observations, concerns, and tactical adjustments to keep every student advancing on an accelerated-growth path
  • Working alongside your team to exchange effective practices, raise urgent issues, and continuously refine the coaching framework

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Instructing courses, evaluating assessments, or distributing assignments—our platform manages the academic content
  • Presenting formal lectures or adhering to a prescribed syllabus
  • Supervising or closely monitoring unmotivated students—we provide coaching, not surveillance
  • Attending redundant meetings or navigating institutional red tape
  • Operating on autopilot—this team is designed for individuals committed to high performance and meaningful impact

Academic Advisor Key Responsibilities

Generate quantifiable academic progress and sustained engagement for virtual learners by providing frequent, high-impact mindset coaching within a completely remote, technology-enabled environment.

Basic Requirements

  • Master's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating K–8 students
  • Demonstrated high achievement in any domain—academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or the arts
  • Strong virtual communication skills and capacity to build rapport with students rapidly via Zoom/Google Meet
  • Proficiency with dashboards and technology platforms for monitoring and adapting performance strategies
  • Capacity to sustain at least 80 percent overlap with US business hours

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • PhD in any field
  • Experience in performance coaching, sports psychology, or motivational practice
  • Familiarity working with homeschool or nontraditional education communities
