Consultant – Built Environment Solutions
We’re looking for a Consultant to join our Built Environment Solutions (BES) team. In this role, you’ll use your technical background and hands-on experience to support a variety of projects for property owners, developers, and contractors across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, technical problem-solving, and working closely with project teams and clients.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with project teams to support the design, assessment, and construction of building projects
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to help manage projects, including budgets and client relationships
- Conduct site assessments, including work on rooftops, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and in mechanical/electrical spaces
- Provide technical expertise across architecture, engineering, construction, or related disciplines
- Support projects involving building assessments, upgrades, maintenance, restoration, and new construction
- Research and interpret building codes and standards (both current and historical)
- Review product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, and technical documentation
What You Bring
- Strong written communication skills, especially for report writing
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and clients
- Solid judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently
- General understanding of construction principles and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, building science, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in building design, assessment, or construction
- Experience with construction documents, project administration, and/or project management
- EIT or PE designation is a plus

The Salary Range for this position is $83,000 - $124,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, AND TRAVEL
Physical Demands – Work will be performed both in an office setting and at outside locations (i.e., Client’s office, industrial, construction, and/or residential sites). Employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites. Employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be attentive, focused, and alert when conducting site inspections, speaking, and interacting with clients, preparing drawings and written reports. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Overtime – This position is classified as salaried with an exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with one hour for lunch. There will be periods where overtime will be required, which the employee will need to comply with in order to meet the demands of the position.
