Director of Aquatics Operations

McConnell Golf is seeking a Corporate Director of Aquatics Operations to provide company-wide leadership and support for pool and aquatics operations across our portfolio of private clubs. This full-time, year-round position will play a key role in ensuring that all McConnell Golf pool facilities operate safely, consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with our service standards.
The Corporate Director of Aquatics Operations will oversee pool operations at multiple properties, including seasonal planning, pool openings and closings, maintenance coordination, safety procedures, inspections, staff training, renovations and repairs, and overall service standards. This position will work closely with General Managers, seasonal pool managers, facilities and maintenance teams, swim team leadership, vendors, and corporate leadership to deliver a safe, well-maintained, and high-quality pool experience for members and guests.
This is a multi-property position that requires regular travel to McConnell Golf clubs.

- Provide operational leadership and support for pool and aquatics operations across McConnell Golf properties.
- Develop and implement consistent pool operating procedures, service standards, safety protocols, and training expectations.
- Coordinate year-round pool maintenance, inspections, repairs, renovations, opening procedures, and closing procedures.
- Support compliance with applicable health, safety, and operating regulations.
- Lead the hiring and training process for seasonal pool managers.
- Support pool managers with lifeguard hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision.
- Coordinate standards for chemical testing, maintenance checks, documentation, mechanical access, and emergency procedures.
- Partner with club leadership to support swim team operations, seasonal programming, staffing levels, and member service.
- Evaluate pool facilities and member experience during regular property visits.
- Create and maintain pool operations manuals, checklists, inspection forms, training guides, and related resources.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in aquatics operations, pool management, recreation management, hospitality, facilities coordination, club operations, or a related field. Strong knowledge of pool safety, chemical testing, maintenance practices, inspections, seasonal staffing, and service standards is required.
A current
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification, Lifeguard or Lifeguard Instructor certification, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain these certifications, is required.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, safety-focused, service-minded, and comfortable working with multiple properties, seasonal teams, vendors, and club leadership. Regular travel and a flexible schedule during peak pool season are required.

This position will support McConnell Golf properties with pool operations, including locations in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Properties currently include Asheville, Brook Valley, Old North State, Porters Neck, Providence, Raleigh, Sedgefield, Treyburn, Wakefield, Wilson, Water’s Edge, and Holston Hills.
