About the Role
Maycomb Capital is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Finance & Operations Analyst to support the firm’s financial management, fund operations, and operational infrastructure. This role is ideal for an analytically minded professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is excited to gain broad exposure across finance, fund operations, treasury management, and business operations within a growing impact private credit platform.
The Analyst will work closely with the Director of Finance & Operations, as well as the investment and investor relations teams, to support budgeting, reporting, fund operations, cash management, and day-to-day operational processes across Maycomb’s management company and multiple fund entities. This is a hands-on role offering significant learning opportunities, ownership, and exposure to senior leadership in a collaborative, mission-driven investment firm.

Responsibilities include
Finance & Operations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the management company and fund entities
- Assist with budget-to-actual reporting, cash flow tracking, and financial analysis
- In collaboration with the fund administrator, support treasury operations, including cash management, payment workflows, and banking administration
- Coordinate with fund administrator on capital calls, distributions, reconciliations, and reporting workflows
- Review financial statements, reconciliations, and transaction activity for accuracy and completeness
- Support quarterly investor reporting process in collaboration with the fund administrator
- Assist with process improvement initiatives, systems organization, and operational documentation
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and strategic projects as needed
Audit, Tax & Regulatory Support
- Assist in managing the annual audit, tax, and regulatory compliance calendar across fund and management company entities
- Coordinate materials and information requests for external auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators
- Support operational and compliance-related documentation and internal controls processes
Firm Operations & Infrastructure
- Support operational processes related to portfolio management activities, invoicing, and loan servicing coordination
- Coordinate with outsourced service providers, including fund administrators, accounting firms, IT managed service providers, cybersecurity consultants, and insurance brokers
- Assist with vendor management, operational workflows, and systems organization
- Support operational risk management processes and annual business operational requirements
- Contribute to cross-functional operational initiatives alongside investment, investor relations, and leadership teams
- Take on additional operational and strategic projects as the firm evolves
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field
- 1–4 years of relevant professional experience in investment management, fund operations, accounting, consulting, banking, or related fields
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to dig into financial data and operational processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and eagerness to learn
- Interest in impact investing
Compensation & Benefits
The expected base salary range for this role is $68,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience. The Analyst will also be eligible for an annual bonus.
