NHS GRAMPIAN

TRAINNEE PODIATRIST

MORAYSHIRE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our Podiatry team in Moray, to work towards becoming a qualified Band 5 Podiatrist over a 3-year period through a supported “Earn as you Learn” development pathway with a work based degree.

We are pleased to offer this first-time opportunity in Grampian to “earn while you learn” (under Annex 21), in partnership with Plymouth University. This pathway enables individuals to work within the Podiatry service while undertaking a work-based degree in podiatry. During the programme, you will not be Health care Professions Council (HCPC)-registered; however, upon successful completion of the 3-year degree, you will become a fully qualified HCPC-registered podiatrist and progress into a Band 5 role within the team.

The programme is designed to support learning and development, with a structured working week that includes:

  • 1 day protected study
  • 1 day university learning delivered remotely if we don’t say it here, we need to say somewhere that the degree is delivered remotely and no requirement to go to the University.
  • 1 day clinical placement
  • 2 days podiatry service delivery

Moray is part of the Grampian region, situated in the scenic north east of Scotland and has a population of over 60,000. The area offers easy access to a wide range of leisure pursuits within urban, rural and coastal settings.

The post holder will work across the Morayshire locality, providing care in community clinics, hospitals, care homes and in domiciliary settings. There will also be opportunities to work with and be supported by our team.

Due to the semi-rural nature of this post, applicants must be a car driver, with access to their own car being desirable.

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to undertake the supported work-based learning route.

Interviews for this post will be held 30th June 2026.
