Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Thin Film Vacuum Processing Technician and Support Assistant for our Fort Collins production team. This role supports vacuum equipment operation and maintenance for thin film processes, and assembly of vacuum related equipment. Ideal candidates are hands-on, eager to learn, detail oriented and motivated to work in a manufacturing and processing setting.
Responsibilities
· Assist in setup, operation, and monitoring of vacuum systems (PVD, PECVD, IBE) under senior guidance.
· Perform routine maintenance, including chamber cleaning, part replacements, and basic troubleshooting.
· Safely handle materials and substrates, loading/unloading into systems and preparing for processing.
· Perform basic evaluation of processes using metrology tools.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas per safety and cleanroom standards.
· Provide team support, such as organizing tools and preparing items to ship as needed.
· Assembly of vacuum processing equipment using hand tools and assembly drawings.
· Adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
· Associate degree in electronics or mechanical technology required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 1+ years in manufacturing, lab, or technical support; vacuum processing or cleanroom experience is a plus.
· Basic hands-on mechanical skills with tools such as multimeters, screwdrivers, and wrenches.
· Basic knowledge and experience reading blueprints used in manufacturing settings.
· Strong detail orientation, problem-solving, and instruction-following abilities.
· Effective communication with team members.
· Physical ability: Lift 50lbs, stand extended periods, and work in cleanroom with the related PPE.
· 8am-5pm, including occasional overtime.
· U.S. work authorization required.
Preferred Skills
· Knowledge of vacuum pumps, gauges, or deposition processes.
· Basic computer skills for data entry and software usage.
· Interest in vacuum technology and manufacturing.
· Basic skills in 3D modelling software is not required, but preferred.
