PMO Project Manager

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH)

Overview

Provides direct project management support to assigned projects within the organization. Initiates, plans,

develops, executes, and manages project timelines, conducts problem assessments, ensures efficient project

implementation, and reports on project performance in conjunction with project sponsors. Works to ensure

maximum effectiveness of resources, quality, change, integration, cost, and scope management using effective

communications techniques. Works across the organization through workgroups and cross-functional teams.

Identifies opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and process innovation while analyzing relevant project data

and implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

Drives planning and defining scope, resource management, risk management, time management,

communication and stakeholder management, and Project Management Education to business stakeholders.

Provides support and consultation to executives, directors, managers, supervisors, and peers for strategic

initiatives as assigned.

Assists leadership with strategy and project initiation, planning, and execution.

Mentors leaders and teams on process improvement strategies and project management methodologies.

Develops data tracking tools, collates and analyzes data, and interprets and graphs results.

Translates specific actions, tasks, and measures for desired outcomes.

Qualifications

Education (experience can be substituted for education)

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Technology, Business, Education, Project Management, or related

field. Required

Master's Degree Preferred

Work Experience (education can be substituted for experience)

7-9 years of project experience. Proven track record of successfully leading teams and implementing

change initiatives. Experience with project management tools/techniques and

methodologies. Experience managing teams from cross-functional departments and

disciplines. Required

7-9 years of experience leading complex and concurrent projects with various size teams. Preferred

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

4-6 years of experience in a healthcare setting. Preferred

Ability to successfully manage change on an organizational level through stakeholder engagement.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with leaders and staff at all levels.

Ability to provide consultation to leadership and peers in effective project management.

Skilled at facilitating work meetings.

Ability to lead through influence and collaboration.

Address and manage conflict amongst teams and stakeholders to resolution.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and follow through.

Ability to track and manage multiple, complex projects and priorities.

Demonstrated competencies in project management to include project chartering, project planning with detailed work breakdown

structure and Gantt, planning for quality assurance, risk identification and mitigation, resource management, budget tracking,

and change control.

Understands the big picture and translates it to specific actions, tasks, and measures for desired outcomes.

Ability to develop data tracking tools and collate and analyze data, and interpret and graph results.

Confidence in working with senior leaders and managers in a consulting role through strategy development and deployment

planning.

Knowledge of Lean tools and critical thinking.

Flexibility and creative problem-solving.

Willingness to listen and understand the needs of others.

Commitment to service excellence.

Proficient with Outlook, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, and SharePoint.

Experience with the use of other Project Management Software a plus.

Licenses and Certifications

Portfolio Management Professional

(PMP) upon hire--within one year. Required
