Youth Program Coordinator
Crossover
- Located on-site at the Alpha School campus, Brownsville, TX
- $100,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay. Full health benefits starting day one.
- Relocation assistance available for candidates committing to one full school year on campus
You've dedicated years to coaching young people — not instructing them in a classroom. You understand the distinction: coaching means building rapport, issuing challenges, and refusing to accept mediocrity. Teaching means delivering curriculum. You've never seen yourself as a curriculum delivery mechanism.
Alpha operates one of the most nontraditional schools in existence. Students don't arrange themselves in classroom rows awaiting lectures. Instead, they progress through AI-driven learning software at individualized speeds. The AI manages instructional delivery. Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that captivate K-8 students, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when students attempt to underperform. Academic progress is automated. You manage the interpersonal dimension.
This position offers meaningful upward trajectory, and that trajectory means greater student influence. Educators who reliably achieve their metrics (100% cohort completion of weekly app targets, satisfaction ratings above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other staff to execute this model more effectively. Students remain the central focus.
The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is mission-driven — transforming what children believe they're capable of — rather than credential-building, submit your application.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange
- Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify genuine skill acquisition, not passive attendance
- Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression goals
- Employing narrative techniques, reward systems (campus currency, competitive rankings), and individual relationships to overcome student hesitation
- Monitoring cohort satisfaction ratings with a target of 90%+ on student feedback surveys
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Delivering traditional lectures at a whiteboard. Academic advancement occurs through self-paced AI-driven applications, not direct instruction from you.
- Providing passive supervision. The environment involves students using computers; the role demands active facilitation.
- Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass benchmarks remain firm, even during challenging weeks for individual students.
- Creating original curriculum materials. Workshop structures and lesson frameworks are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the storytelling ability and commanding presence that ensures genuine student learning.
- Handling parent communications, admissions processes, or campus administration. Those functions belong to separate positions.
