Unit Secretary

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Maintains unit communications by answering the telephone, transferring calls and taking messages.
  • Monitors emergency call systems, communicates emergency calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Receives and directs visitors, families and residents.
  • Communicates with resident families regarding non-medical matters.
  • Communicates changes in residents' room status or rate to Business Office.
  • Arranges for appointments and transportation and accompanies transports for residents as assigned.

Qualifications

  • CNA/CMA certification required.
  • High school diploma, or above.
  • Typing, computer and clerical skills.
  • Experience and training in medical records.
