Summary of Function
Responsible for production support activities involving raw materials, WIP, components, and finished goods, which includes material handling, preparation, staging, mixing, allocating, boxing, labeling, and inventory management. Must follow specific material lot instructions from pick lists, specifications, and procedures. When not performing these activities, you may be responsible for performing warehouse associate duties which may include organization and upkeep of the warehouse and physical distribution. Must follow safety practices and collection of data to analyze performance and continuous improvement.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for properly transacting(scanning) raw materials and/or components to and from (returns) each production job during changeovers and throughout the production run as needed
- Responsible for assisting in boxing and moving released finished goods from the production floor to the warehouse
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory information in our database system, which includes all key functions related to inventory transactions to ensure they are accurate and timely
- Responsible for mixing raw materials when required
- Responsible for drying materials, which includes cleaning dryers, and updating staging board
- Assist with organization, packaging, labeling, and other warehouse duties (including driving a hi-lo)
- Occasionally provide shipping and receiving help as requested to load and unload tools/fixtures and other items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, specifically around machines and in staging areas
- Assist in maintaining the recycle/regrind program by keeping containers empty and dock clean and organized
- Complete any task or special project that may be assigned to you
- Assist in reducing downtime (no downtime for “no material” or “no dry material” or “no dryer”)
- Assist in achieving zero transactional errors in IQMS and zero paperwork errors on required forms
- Able to communicate effectively with all Medbio personnel, suppliers, and customers
- Conform to the culture, vision, and mission of Medbio
- Communicate to management any situation that may arise be it job specific or employee related
Organizational Relationships
This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience in a fast-paced, similar environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work with people at different levels
- Positive attitude for continued learning
- Intermediate mathematical and analytical skills
- Must have intermediate computer skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work a standard 40-hour work week with occasional overtime including weekends when necessary. Sitting and/or standing for an extended period of time as well as some walking within the facility. Must be able to see with or without corrective lenses to distinguish color different and depth perception for product and safety issues. Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms for distances up to 100 feet. The ability to lift and carry items up to 70 pounds.
