HR Coordinator

The HR Coordinator supports day-to-day Human Resources operations for Nabors Alaska Drilling and serves as a key administrative and coordination resource for field and corporate employees. This role focuses on executing core HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, payroll support, benefits administration, and compliance tracking.
The HR Coordinator works closely with field leadership, operations, recruiting, payroll, and corporate HR teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of HR activities. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager and plays an important role in supporting remote field operations, employee logistics, and workforce administration across the Alaska Division.
Location: Anchorage, AK (On-Site)
Travel: Periodic travel to North Slope operations may be required (quarterly or as needed).
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or some college required; Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
- 0–2 years of HR, administrative, or coordination experience preferred (internship experience acceptable)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through
Preferred
- Experience supporting field-based or operational workforces
- Exposure to HRIS or payroll systems Experience in oil & gas, energy, or similar industries
- Must meet all pre-employment screening requirements, including drug and alcohol testing and background check
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license eligible for travel within Alaska, including periodic North Slope travel
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR inquiries (payroll, benefits, policies, employment documentation)
- Route complex or sensitive issues to HR leadership as appropriate
- Maintain employee records and personnel files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
Ensure HR documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
Recruiting & Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate recruiting activities including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and pre-employment steps
- Support new hire onboarding by tracking requirements, scheduling onboarding activities, and ensuring completion of required documentation
Partner with Recruiting and HR to facilitate a smooth hiring and onboarding process
Field Operations Support
- Coordinate workforce logistics for field employees, including travel, rotations, and scheduling updates
- Track and support completion of medical clearances, drug testing, fit-for-duty requirements, and compliance screenings
Assist with coordination between field leadership, HR, and operations teams
Payroll & Data Support
- Assist with payroll inquiries and coordinate issue resolution with payroll teams
- Support payroll processing activities such as timesheet validation, adjustments, and exception tracking
Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and trackers
Benefits Administration
- Support employee benefits enrollment and qualifying life event processing
- Coordinate documentation required for benefits updates and changes
Direct employees to appropriate benefits resources as needed
Compliance & Documentation
- Support compliance with company policies and employment regulations (FLSA, FMLA, etc.) by maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Assist with HR audits and document requests
Track completion of required HR and compliance activities
Employee Lifecycle Coordination
- Support employee status changes including promotions, transfers, and separations
Coordinate offboarding activities, including documentation and system updates
Reporting & Administrative Support
- Maintain HR trackers, reports, and data related to workforce activity and onboarding progress
- Support HR projects and process improvements led by HR leadership
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
