About the Role
Cheshire House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a part of Ryders Health Management's family-owned management company, is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team! As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our residents. Our commitment is to provide the full continuum of post-acute care, and your expertise will be crucial in enhancing the dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for residents, staff, and visitors
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness
- Collaborate with dietary staff to develop menus and special diets as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring residents' needs are met and their satisfaction is high
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation, inventory, and waste
Requirements
- Passion for cooking and ability to prepare a variety of meals
- Basic food safety knowledge and certifications a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Basic math skills for inventory management and ordering
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
