About This Job

At LP Gas Commission, our mission is to promulgate and enforce rules that will allow for the safest possible distribution, handling, and usage of liquefied petroleum gas and anhydrous ammonia necessary for the protection, safety, and security of the public.

We’re looking for a Training and Development Specialist 1 to serve at the agency, assisting in the maintenance of agency-wide training records and in revising and developing courses to be delivered.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

Experience Substitution

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

As a Training And Development Specialist 1, You'll Help Update a Training Curriculum And Maintain Training Records. In This Role, You Will:

  • Assists in revising and developing courses to be delivered.
  • Delivers in their entirety, regularly scheduled and recurring courses of instruction.
  • Utilizes case studies, role plays, varied written materials and other structured learning activities.
  • Prepares visual aids appropriate to the course materials.
  • Research subject matter of training topics to achieve teaching and writing competency.
  • Delivers courses that require a minimum of development and preparation to audiences that require little variation in teaching methods.
  • Schedules employees for outside education and arranges for applicable stipends.
  • Operates necessary equipment to accomplish mission goals and objectives.
  • Assists in maintenance of agency-wide training records.

Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined by qualifications and experience.
