Are you highly organized, confident in fast-paced environments, and skilled in professional communication? The City of Hampton Police Division is hiring a Court Liaison Coordinator to coordinate officer court appearances, support command staff, and ensure seamless communication between law enforcement and the judicial system.
- This is a part time position.
Typical Tasks
- Coordinate with Commonwealth’s Attorney and City Attorney staff to ensure only required officers report to court.
- Assist officers with court conflicts related to emergencies, overlapping schedules, training, or leave.
- Appear in court to explain emergency absences on behalf of officers.
- Investigate unexcused court absences and report findings to leadership.
- Maintain and update court rosters, officer assignments, and forensic personnel lists.
- Manage leave notifications, continuance requests, and scheduling for new officers and cadets.
- Support supervisors with inquiries related to missed court appearances.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for courts regarding attendance issues or professional conduct concerns.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires graduation from high school or successful completion of a GED.
- Must successfully complete a Police Division background investigation and pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Exceptional oral, written and presentation skills required.
- Knowledge of computer programs to include Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
