Product Development & Merchandising Assistant

Blue Nile is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Development & Merchandising Assistant to support and drive key merchandising and product development initiatives across the business. This role serves as a highly collaborative partner to Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing, Social, PR, and Creative teams helping bring jewelry collections from concept through execution while ensuring alignment in product storytelling, assortment curation and strategy, quality, and brand presentation.
The ideal candidate is both operationally strong and creatively minded, with excellent organizational and communication skills, a high level of ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with early experience in jewelry or fashion product development who is passionate about product, branding, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a product expert and partner closely with Marketing, Social, PR, and Creative teams to support product launches, campaigns, photoshoots, PR placements, events, and social content through thoughtful assortment curation ensuring alignment with business objectives and cohesive brand storytelling.
- Maintain and manage product database and product development trackers, ensuring accurate style setup, ongoing updates, and real-time visibility across cross-functional teams.
- Manage and oversee product sample logistics, including vendor communication, shipment tracking, internal distribution, sample sign-in/sign-out processes, and timely delivery for review, approval, styling, and production needs.
- Manage archive organization of physical and digital samples, ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and traceability throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Assist in preparation of product reviews, presentations, collection overviews, and assortment strategies.
- Identify and implement process improvements across sample management workflows to increase organization, efficiency, and cross-functional visibility throughout product development and marketing execution.
- Conduct trend and market research by compiling visual inspiration, competitive analysis, and broader industry insights to inform and merchandise opportunities within the fine jewelry and luxury landscape.
- Support operational initiatives, cross-functional communication, special projects, and ad hoc administrative responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years prior experience in merchandising or buying environment preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for Data Entry and Reporting (V-LookUps, exporting, etc)
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset with strong cross-functional communication skills
- Interest in fashion, luxury, jewelry, styling, and brand storytelling
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of projects

Hourly base pay rate: $24.00-26.00. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications.
