Overview
We are looking for a skilled data professional to support a long-term engagement in Marietta, Georgia. In this role, you will serve as the primary data resource for the client — pulling information from multiple personnel and financial systems, building dashboards and tracking tools, and delivering daily, weekly, and monthly data products that help senior leadership make informed decisions about their workforce and budget.
This is a hands-on, independent role. You will be embedded on-site at a government installation and will own the full lifecycle of several recurring data products — from extraction and transformation through visualization and delivery. You will work closely with stakeholders and leadership to ensure your outputs meet defined accuracy and timeliness standards.
What You Will Do
• Connect to and extract data from Army HR and financial systems daily, transforming raw data into clean, analysis-ready datasets
• Build and maintain a suite of Power BI dashboards and data products covering workforce tracking, budget status, awards processing, vacancy projections, and personnel lifecycle trends
• Develop and maintain an automated tracker for employees on leave without pay (LWOP) and those returning to duty, including integrated budget impact reporting
• Create and maintain a centralized dashboard tracking monetary awards and quality step increases, with visibility into processing timelines and budget impact
• Build and maintain a tracking product for military service credit deposit status across the civilian workforce
• Develop a vacancy fill and projections tool that shows current open positions and uses predictive modeling to estimate how long they will take to fill
• Produce a reconciliation report identifying discrepancies between personnel accounting systems and financial systems of record
• Maintain a Status of Funds dashboard that integrates personnel cost data with available, committed, and obligated budget figures
• Build and maintain a workflow tracker that monitors personnel and budget actions from initiation through completion
• Develop a multi-year predictive model forecasting retirements, attritions, and promotions, and their projected impact on manpower and budget
• Maintain all data products to defined accuracy and refresh standards; participate in periodic check-ins with the government COR
What We Are Looking For
Must Have
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining data pipelines that pull from multiple source systems — whether enterprise HR systems, financial systems, ERP platforms, or similar
- Advanced Power BI skills — you can build a dashboard from scratch, write DAX measures, configure scheduled refreshes, and maintain it over time
- Experience developing workforce or operational tracking tools — vacancy trackers, status of funds reports, attrition models, action lifecycle trackers, or comparable products
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple recurring deliverables with defined accuracy and timeliness requirements
- Strong communication skills — you will present data products to senior leadership and coordinate with a government COR
- Ability to obtain installation access at a U.S. Army facility (standard background check; no clearance required)
Strongly Preferred
• Familiarity with these Army enterprise systems — particularly GFEBS (General Fund Enterprise Business System), FTSMCS (Full-Time Support Management Control System), or DCPDS (Defense Civilian Personnel Data System). Direct experience with any of these is a significant plus; candidates who can demonstrate it will be prioritized
• Experience supporting DoD, Army, or National Guard organizations
• Background in workforce analytics, HR data, or personnel management systems
• Experience with predictive modeling for workforce or financial planning purposes
• SQL, Python, or ETL tool proficiency (Alteryx, SSIS, or similar)
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) certification is a plus, not a requirement
