Custodial Worker - Ingleside - Norfolk, VA- Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization that has been helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking a part-time Custodian who will be responsible for performing all aspects of custodial maintenance in a multi-building complex.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities represent the essential functions of this job that an individual must be able to perform with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Sweep, mop, dust, and remove trash
- Clean windows, toilets, sinks, and polish steel
- Refill soap dispensers and replenish paper products
- Clean and dust furniture, counters, and blinds
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock soap and paper products
- Work as a team with others to ensure efficient operation
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including buffers, shampoo/extractor machines, and power washers
- Attending in-service training courses and meetings when requested
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:
The following qualifications represent the training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or work experience required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities successfully:
- Related job experience providing custodial services
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing Capable of operating cleaning equipment, such as buffers
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands: Performing the duties of this job requires near visual acuity, the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, and gross manipulation. Additionally, the employee:
- Must be free of tuberculosis in a communicable form
- Must be able to exert considerable effort, frequently lifting to 50lbs, bending, reaching, and squatting
- Must be able to stand for four or more hours
Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily indoors, going outdoors on occasion, and may be exposed to dust, dirt, mold, and various cleaning solvents; the employee will also work outside of the office, walking or traveling to different sites of the Naval Base or other designated locations. Must be able to withstand extremes of temperature and noise level.
