THE OPPORTUNITY
The Greater NY Corporate Programs Director will lead Greater NY’s Analyst Corps and Next Gen Partnership programs engaging early-and mid-career professionals from top-tier financial services firms in meaningful strategic service. The role will build on eight years of success for the Analyst Corps which has launched 100+ projects and become a valued partner to an outstanding roster of investment banking, private equity firms, and high-performing nonprofits. The role will also leverage the strong relationships developed to support scaling the Next Gen Partnerships program from a successful pilot to full program.
Greater NY’s Analyst Corps matches teams of analysts and associates from partner firms to work with finance and program directors at nonprofit organizations on well-scoped and substantive projects. Next Gen Partnerships connect Principal and new MD-level corporate professionals with nonprofit C-suite professionals to work together on a core advisory or strategic question.
The Director of Corporate Programs will 1) sustain and grow a dynamic, high-performing network of relationships; 2) meet annual project and revenue targets; 3) work in close collaboration with the Associate Director, Analyst Corps to ensure operational success and program impact; and 4) work in close collaboration with Greater NY’s Executive Director to develop the vision and strategy for Greater NY’s overall corporate strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Managing, sustaining and building relationships with a growing roster of financial services companies that participate in Greater NY’s Analyst Corps and Next Gen programs. This includes excellent stewardship of personal and enterprise relationships to ever-deepening programmatic partnerships and multi-year commitments.
- Supporting the creation and completion of 25-30 Analyst Corps projects a year to meet revenue targets. This includes working closely with the Associate Director, Analyst Corps to ensure operational success and project quality of the Analyst Corps; monitoring internal and external metrics for project development; and collaborating on the identification, scoping, and management of viable projects.
- Leveraging corporate relationships to build Greater NY’s second corporate program – the Next Gen Partnership program. This involves working with the Next Gen program consultant to evolve the Next Gen pilot to scale, and planning for the operationalization, integration and staffing of Next Gen as a full program.
- Collaborating with Greater NY’s Executive Partnership Program to deepen synergies between both programs. This includes ensuring that Greater NY’s engagement with and support of partner nonprofits is aligned, consistent, and meaningful and that Greater NY is using all its assets to create impact.
- Communicating program processes, goals, outcomes and impact. This includes establishing standards for project documentation and program/project impact and working with Greater NY’s Communications and Events team.
THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will have an orientation to corporate environments; knowledge of and experience with nonprofit management and the nonprofit sector; and the analytical skills, mindsets, and communication skills to bridge the cultures of these very different businesses. Knowledge of investment banking / private equity culture and skillsets a plus.
Demonstrated project management skills are needed to work collaboratively with the Associate Director, Analyst Corps, to support nonprofit clients, analysts and develop high-quality final products and positive experiences for all.
Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are needed to ensure the program runs smoothly and that multiple stakeholder satisfaction is met.
Team orientation and the ability to collaborate effectively is required to capture the synergies of a dynamic organization with four interconnected programs that support each other’s success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years’ experience working in a relationship management capacity in any number of areas including nonprofit management, volunteerism, leadership development, corporate social responsibility, or human resources or other.
- Experience managing high-stakes relationships and interacting with senior leadership, funders and board members
- Working knowledge of nonprofit finance, nonprofit culture and a desire to support nonprofit excellence.
COMPENSATION
Salary $125K; benefits include health/vision/dental insurance; transit benefits; FSA/HSA plans; access to a 401 (k) account; and more.
