The Mississippi Division of Medicaid (Division) is seeking applications for an administrator of the agency appeals and hearing process (Administrator). The initial contract term shall be one year commencing August 5, 2026. The contract shall renew annually without further action by either party until such time as one or both parties issue written notice of termination.

The Administrator will be paid at the rate of $50.00 per hour. In addition to the hourly rate, the Division shall make a FICA contribution on behalf of the selected individual as well as any other payment required by law. The Administrator shall work between 20 and 40 hours per week at the Division’s Central Office at 550 High Street, Jackson, Mississippi.

At the Division’s sole discretion and upon written approval of the Executive Director, the Division may adjust the hourly rate based on the performance of the Administrator and the availability of funds. Adjustments may not exceed the rise in the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (CPI-U) since the most recent price adjustment.

The Administrator shall have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; five years of direct management experience; relevant experience with administrative appeals and hearings in a government agency, preferably in state government in Mississippi; and experience managing contractors and a budget.

The Administrator’s responsibilities include supervising a staff of five to eight employees who review appeals submitted to the Division, coordinate hearings, and serve as hearing officers. The Administrator shall also manage contracts with outside legal counsel and other external vendors who participate in the appeals process. The Administrator shall perform other duties as assigned.
