Overview

Staff Market Researcher (Customer Growth)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a heavy-hitting, strategic Staff Market Researcher to own the insights engine driving our Customer Growth vertical. You have spent over a decade proving that research isn't just about understanding the user—it’s about moving business metrics.

You are predominantly a quantitative powerhouse, but you possess the qualitative depth to know why the numbers look the way they do. In this role, you won’t just be delivering reports; you will be a trusted strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, high-impact growth levers (acquisition, retention, and monetization).

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Drive the Growth Strategy: Design and execute high-impact mixed-methods research—leveraging your deep quantitative expertise (survey design, advanced behavioral analytics, segmentation) alongside sharp qualitative validation—to identify new customer growth opportunities.

  • Influence Senior Stakeholders: Serve as a peer and strategic partner to VPs and Directors across Product, Marketing, and Data Science. You don't just share data; you tell a compelling story that aligns leadership around critical growth initiatives.
  • Connect Macro to Micro: Seamlessly blend big-data trends with human behavior. You know how to synthesize complex data streams into elegant, actionable frameworks that product and growth teams can execute immediately.
  • Champion Research Excellence: Elevate our research practices by introducing rigorous methodologies that scale, ensuring the "voice of the customer" is quantitatively validated and commercially viable.

Qualifications

Who You Are

  • 10+ Years of Experience: You have a proven track record of leading research in fast-paced environments, with a significant portfolio dedicated to customer acquisition, lifecycle, or growth mechanics.

  • Quant-First, Qual-Adept: You are a master of quantitative methodologies (e.g., max-diff, conjoint analysis, cohort analysis, A/B test interpretation) but are equally comfortable jumping into the field for deep-dive ethnographic or contextual qualitative work when the data points to a blind spot.
  • Executive Presence: You possess exceptional communication and negotiation skills. You are adept at managing stakeholder expectations, challenging assumptions with data, and navigating complex corporate environments with tact and authority.
  • Commercial Acumen: You don’t do research for the sake of research. You understand business models and how product experiences directly impact the bottom line.
  • Methodological Rigor: Experience programming surveys and performing data analysis and synthesis from DIY software (specifically Qualtrics, SPSS, etc.) is preferred. Familiarity with design thinking and lean experimentation is a plus.

Why You’ll Love It Here

You will have a massive seat at the table. Your insights will directly shape the roadmap for our highest-priority growth initiatives, backed by a culture that genuinely respects data-driven decision-making.
