Project Manager IV - TDIP Low Voltage Systems Integrator

CLMI Group is seeking a Project Manager IV – TDIP Low Voltage Systems Integrator to support Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA) Terminal Development & Improvement Program (TDIP).
The Project Manager IV serves as the TDIP Low Voltage Systems Integrator and subject matter expert, responsible for driving and overseeing the design and execution of all IT, special systems, and innovations across multiple terminal projects.
This position provides oversight and guidance on LAWA’s system integration requirements and acts as the primary IT liaison and airport/owner representative, working closely with Information Management & Technology (IMT) executives and respective system owners. The role requires subject matter expertise across airport terminal IT and network systems for the comprehensive design, implementation, and commissioning of those systems, and close collaboration with internal teams, airline partners, LAWA stakeholders, and contractors to coordinate IT project activities across multiple terminals and ensure consistency.
Systems Integration & Technical Oversight
- Drive and oversee the design, implementation, and commissioning of all IT, special systems, and innovations across multiple terminal projects; provide oversight and guidance on LAWA’s system integration requirements.
- Serve as subject matter expert across airport terminal IT and network systems, including passenger processing systems, terminal management systems, baggage handling systems, building automation systems, lighting control systems, and aircraft guidance and ramp management systems.
- Review and validate IT scope costs for system implementations and integrations; oversee buildout and commissioning of IT rooms, networks, and horizontal and backbone cabling.
- Lead integration workshops through deployment and final commissioning of terminal systems such as passenger processing, CCTV, access control (ACAMS), flight information, baggage handling, public announcement, Wi-Fi, aircraft guidance (VDGS), emergency notification, and ramp services management.
- Lead integration workshops through deployment and final commissioning of building and mechanical systems, including building automation, lighting control, power metering and controls, conveyance monitoring, and the central utility plant FMCS.
Stakeholder Coordination & Liaison
- Act as the primary IT liaison and airport/owner representative, working closely with Information Management & Technology (IMT) executives and respective system owners.
- Serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for IT infrastructure and integration requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors and IMT system owners for comprehensive and effective migration, integration, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with the LAWA cyber security team and contractor IT system providers to integrate systems into the LAWA ecosystem in a manner that meets security requirements.
- Lead stakeholder engagement to identify, communicate, and resolve needs while preserving project scope, schedule, and budget constraints; participate in all necessary coordination meetings with designers, contractors, and stakeholders.
Design, Construction & Commissioning Management
- Coordinate shop drawing reviews; participate in and approve factory and site acceptance tests; coordinate material and mockup approvals; and provide reports, drawings, and specification interpretation.
- Identify and study options to resolve complex design, operational, and constructability issues.
- Work with designers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop the overall planning of construction activities and identify critical milestones and priorities.
- Ensure all work is performed and inspected to the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFIs.
- Work with key project individuals to devise and execute action plans that rectify potential delays or significant changes to the scope of work.
Process, Change Management & Closeout
- Apply knowledge of LAWA’s change management process for the deployment of new IT systems and interfacing with legacy IT systems.
- Apply an understanding of LAWA’s USR and ASR processes and identify and mitigate impacts on IT systems.
- Manage the closeout process for IT systems to ensure documentation is completed efficiently and the project is closed without incurring unnecessary costs.
- Adhere to a safe work environment well above industry standards.
Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience, preferably on airport projects, with demonstrable specialized experience and a defined area of expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or other related technical field.
- Extensive experience in a system integrator capacity for airport terminal IT and network systems, including passenger processing, terminal management, baggage handling, building automation, and lighting control systems.
- Experience on projects greater than $100 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design + CMAR, and Design/Build.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, with excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related technical field.
- Relevant professional licensure and/or certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, or AICP.
- Ability to work in CAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with digital content management systems and other airport IT systems.
- Prior experience delivering IT and special systems within an active airport operating environment.
Benefits
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $164,000
