The Organ Pathobiology and Therapeutics Institute (OPTIn) is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Monga Lab to study the molecular underpinnings of the process of liver metabolic zonation. The fellow will study impact of beta-catenin signaling in each of the three metabolic zones within the liver lobule to identify target genes. Additionally, using hepatocyte labeling of each of the zones, the incumbent will study using chromatin immuno-precipitation and ATAC-Seq, the role of b-catenin, TCF4 and HNF4a in controlling expression of genes in each of the three liver zones to determine transcriptomic and epigenetic control of zonation. This is a wonderful opportunity to work as part of a highly collaborative team to discern other relevant projects in the liver including zonation, development, regeneration and cancer. Additional duties include participation in lab meetings, assisting in writing papers and grants, making presentations in scientific meetings relevant to your research activities, and participation in the departmental seminars and journal clubs, as well as any other assignments requested by the Director of the Organ Pathobiology and Therapeutics Institute (OPTIn). The requirement for the position is PhD or MD.
