YBI Recruiting is hiring a Outside Sales Associate on behalf of one of our manufacturing clients - a well-established industry leader that provides equipment and support solutions to the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and infrastructure markets.

This opening is for our client's auction subsidiary for the New York City Metropolitan Area or Long Island, New York territory . This team plays an important role in extending the lifecycle of heavy equipment and utility vehicles by connecting quality used equipment with new owners and markets. This creates value for small businesses, local operators, and communities while supporting sustainability efforts.

As an Outside Sales Associate, you will play a key role in growing auction operation. Equipment sold includes bucket trucks, digger derricks, construction equipment, backhoes, skid steers, mini excavators, dozers, fleet vehicles, and more. This role is idea for self-starters with strong communication, time management, and administrative skills. You will work closely with internal teams to identify and secure industrial, utility fleet, and construction equipment for upcoming auctions (typically 4-8 per month).

Key Responsibilities

  • Growing auction sales by strengthening existing customer relationships and securing consignments from new businesses within your territory.
  • Engaging with customers through personal sales calls, telephone outreach, tradeshow events, and direct mail advertisements.
  • Preparing consigned equipment for sale, to include operating and staging equipment, generating descriptions, capturing photos, and securing titles.
  • Participating in auctions to gain industry knowledge and hands-on experience in buyer registration, invoicing, and titles.
  • Building and maintaining customer relationships, including engagement opportunities and hospitality events.

The salary range for this position starts at $85,000-$100,000 plus sales incentive, with job level adjustments possible based on experience.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two years of successful outside sales experience
  • Residency within the territory - NYC Metropolitan Area or Long Island, New York
  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outside sales experience in a related industry such as heavy equipment, fleet sales, or remarketing.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment and performing basic mechanical troubleshooting
