About This Opportunity

The Driver is primarily responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of finished products to Vander-Bend Manufacturing customers. The person in this position must be detailed and able to follow directions. This individual acts as a representative of the company and assists customers as required. When not driving, this position assists in preparing materials for next deliveries and or cleanup of vehicle/department as required. The driver is also responsible for other duties and tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Will drive a variety of Company owned vehicles.
  • Receive requests from shipping department or others for pick-ups at customers and suppliers.
  • Match packing slips against box labels before loading truck for deliveries.
  • Ensure the safe and accurate delivery of materials to the customer.
  • Reporting of all discrepancies to the Shipping Manager or Customer Account Managers.
  • Completes necessary documentation.
  • Assists in packaging of product.
  • Notifies Maintenance department or Management to any equipment issues including but not limited to: vehicles, lift trucks, pallet jacks etc.
  • Load and unload of materials.
  • Safe use of forklift

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Familiar with Bay Area roads and traffic patterns.
  • Strapping and securing of materials for transportation.
  • Must be able to read and understand road maps.
  • Be able to present a pleasant and professional manner to customers.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Current DMV printout.
  • Successful completion of Forklift Training and Vander-Bend Manufacturing Certification.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds routinely.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to maneuver and push 500-pound Kan Ban Racks when required.
  • Endure long periods of sitting.
  • Ability to climb in and out of High Truck Cabs routinely.
