POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

This role performs a wide range of duties related to assisting the mortgage loan originators and the origination of residential 1st and 2nd mortgages. This position is responsible for meeting the standards, objectives and goals set forth by management for originating loans and cross-selling products and services of the bank.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Sales and / or retail banking experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of residential conventional / government mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing guidelines required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

Description - % of Time Spent

Business Development & Production Support - 40%

  • Assist Mortgage Loan Originators with contacting new and existing referrals.
  • Assists with follow up on "TBD" applications.
  • Assists with planning events.
  • Serves as point of contact when Mortgage Loan Originators are on PTO.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Originators to meet or exceed mortgage production goals by following the designated marketing plan.

Customer Experience & Communication - 40%

  • Responsible for communicating updates throughout the loan process to applicants, realtors, builders, title companies, and others as needed to deliver exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Responsible for delivering exceptional levels of customer service and communicate with both applicants and internal support staff with timely updates and progress reports.
  • Assists with pulling credit and running AUS on new loan applications, contacting clients when appraisal payment and/or VOE links have been sent to the client, and scheduling the closing with all parties and requesting closing date in BYTE.
  • Assists with gathering information and communicating client "servicing issues" on closed loans.
  • Collect appropriate documentation from applicants in time frames established by management.
  • Assists with communicating with processors on conditions, collecting missing / updated documents from clients, and uploading documentation to BYTE.

Operational & Professional Support - 20%

  • Build knowledge base of available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in all consumer lender meetings and training as required by management.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.

Other Requirements

  • Travel between Republic Banking facilities may be required including occasional out of town travel.
  • Flexible work schedule may include some evenings, weekends and/or overtime.
  • Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
  • This position is subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations as defined by the SAFE Act must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in corrective counseling up to termination of employment.
