As a Loan Assistant on our team, you’ll play an important role in supporting our commercial lending team and ensuring a seamless lending experience for our clients. You’ll prepare and maintain commercial loan documentation, coordinate loan servicing activities, and help ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working behind the scenes to support lending operations, build strong internal relationships, and contribute to exceptional client service.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare commercial loan documentation and assist with loan closings, renewals, modifications, and disbursements.
- Maintain accurate commercial loan files and ensure proper execution of imaging, filing, and record retention procedures.
- Record and release collateral documents, process lien recordings, mortgage filings, and loan satisfactions.
- Review loan files for completeness and accuracy before and after closing.
- Assist with clearing loan exceptions, ticklers, and servicing requests.
- Verify loan postings, corporate documents, trust documentation, insurance certificates, and signing authorities.
- Support commercial loan compliance by adhering to lending regulations, bank policies, HMDA requirements, flood determination guidelines, and audit standards.
- Collaborate with lenders, clients, attorneys, title companies, and other professionals to gather information and resolve questions.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide exceptional service throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and care.

What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of banking operations, lending support, personal banking, or related experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Previous loan operations, loan documentation, or commercial lending experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial documents and the ability to analyze and communicate financial information effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with banking software systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Working Conditions
- Professional office environment.
